Chinese New Year takes place on January 25th this year and symbolizes the beginning of the Spring Festival in China. However, people all over the world celebrate the 15 days of Chinese New Year. During the 15 days, people practice healthy habits to promote a prosperous new year by eating healthy, praying, and cleaning.

People celebrate this holiday with red decorations and paper lanterns. Giving children gifts of money to bring luck to them for the new year and visiting with family and friends.

They also celebrate with parades of bright colors, large dragons, and dancing.

Each Chinese New Year is represented by an animal. The year 2020 is the Year of the Rat. The rat is considered to be a good omen for the new year. Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!
