How To Make A Pop Up Card

Home » How To Make A Pop Up Card

Have you ever wondered how to make a pop up card?  We made a pop-up card for Valentine’s Day and took pictures to teach you along the way!  Here is what you will need:

– 1 Sheet of White Paper

– 1 Sheet of Colored Paper

– A pencil

– Scissors

– Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils

– A Glue Stick

Here are some of the supplies you will need.

First, begin with a sheet of colored paper and the sheet of white paper.

Fold them both in half, like a greeting card.

Unfold the white sheet of paper and draw a half of a heart on the outside.  (Make sure not to make it too big, or it will not fit inside the card when it folds.)

Re-fold the paper and draw a line where the new fold will be so that you don’t cut too far.

Cut the heart up to the fold line the fold over.

Unfold the sheet and flip it over.  Color in the heart on the side that will be the inside of the card.

Start to refold the sheet.  As you are folding, push the heart in like the picture above.

This is what the sheet should look like after it has been re-folded.

Put glue on the card on one side.

Put the white sheet of paper on the colored sheet of paper with the folds lined up.  Then, fold the colored sheet over so that it sticks to the glue.  Glue the other side of the white sheet of paper to the colored sheet of paper in the same way.

This is what your card will look like when you open it back up.

Use your markers, crayons or colored pencils to decorate your card.
