MSB is Live at the Lego Robotics Competition!

On November 23rd, our very own Anabelle Wessel competed in the Lego Robotics Competition at McQuaid High School in Rochester, NY.  According to the Principal, the students would be “learning by doing something, learning by solving something, and learning by working together”.

19 Teams participated in the event in the area of robotics.  320,000 kids around the world participate in the City Shaper Lego Project, intended to create solutions to problems.

During the competition, 2 teams go head-to-head to complete challenges with their Lego robots.

The older students build their robots out of aluminum.  The one pictured here weighs 120 lbs, can reach up to 70″ high and can carry up to 500 lbs.

At the end of the day, the winners were announced.  The top five teams will be moving on to compete at the Rochester Institute of Technology in December:

Sienna Catholic School

Dancing Robots

Alexander Robotic Achievers

SLS Lunatic Engineers

Sienna Palisades

Congratulations to the teams moving on and to everyone that participated!
