Poetry is the lesson hidden behind the words
It’s a scavenger hunt to find the meaning
It’s the bottom of the sandbox
You keep shoveling away sand until it’s revealed
Poetry is the hard math problem that you keep rereading until you realize what it’s saying
It’s the secret your friends refuse to tell you and the only way is to figure it out on your own.
It’s like Easter and you have to find all the eggs for the surprise
Poetry is something you need to uncover to find the meaning.

“As far as the quarantine, we are staying in my apartment all the time. I miss school and seeing my friends, but I feel grateful that I can still stay in touch with them on group chats and social media. We also have virtual meetings with my Girl Scout Troop and it makes me feel better knowing that we are all in this together. I enjoy spending these days with my parents and my dog. And I am catching up on sleep!”
